Save on your kids clothes- let grandma buy them! HA HA
JK.... LOL
I do have alot of clothes that came from family, either as gifts, or as hand me downs. But I find that for US to save money buying the girls clothes I always buy a size or two too big and for the wrong season. Since that is when it will be on sale.
I recently started selling off some of littlest DD's clothes on eBay and was surprised to see how well they sold and how much you could save on some really nice stuff by buying clothes on eBay!
I just bought DD a beautiful designer dress! It's for summer and about 1/4 size too big but it'll fit her by then.
I also found that a simple dress pattern (I mean really simple) for little girls can be easily converted into a "throw over your head" nightgown and can be put together in no time at all. My oldest DD won't wear anything but a nightgown, but I can't afford to buy a bunch of nightgowns when I already have so many Jammies for her... so I make them. I always change something, use some off color of thread that stands out, use some decorative stitch or something. It doesn't even have to be "right" as long as it's a nightgown. (The last one was about 3 inches too long, but now she thinks it's a princess nightgown! )
It was a great way to get rid of some leftover material too!

I have been soo fortunate with my family. I don't know the last time I actually bought the kids clothes. My MIL usually buys them and then at x-mas time my SIL , Mom and MIL buy them clothes and then my cousin has quadruplets that are all girls who are 2 years older than my DD so we get to go through all thier old clothes. Not to mention my DH Aunt goes to yards sales and buys the kids clothes that are usually brand name and in excellent condition. So basically, I just have to buy the essentials, socks, underwear and shoes.
