Luckily I haven't had a problem with getting DH into the plan, since I do all the bills anyway. He just request I give him a little blow money and he is happy. Just remember that you are doing this for a good reason, so you will have wealth in your future, wouldn't your SO want that too.

DH is all for it, till you tell him he has to give up the Satalite service. If you have wiggle room then negotiate I think. I know Dave Ramsey says eliminate ALL unnecessary items but that really wouldn't work for my family. I need to start DH out slow.... leave us some wiggle room to cut back with in case we still need it.

I am not getting rid of our service only because without it we only get 1 channel. We have given it up before when filed BK a few years ago and now we could not live without it. If it comes down to you don't have enough for food or housing etc then I would get rid of it. But, I am no where near there, I am glad I figured out that I was edging toward being back in debt again. Now, I can start climbing out now and stay out.

I gave up my counseling though... Who cares that I'm going nuts anyway? that was $130/mth.
